How to Buy a New Construction Home

The process of building a new home can seem overwhelming, but we’re here to tell you it doesn't have to be! We want this process to be as smooth and transparent as possible for the buyers, the agent, and us, the builders. There are many advantages to purchasing a new home versus a pre-existing home, but sometimes the process of building may seem overwhelming. We’ve done this a time or two so we’ve gotten pretty good at this. Let us explain how it works.

Working with Empire Homes is Simple!

  1. Find the Perfect Home: Agents and buyers will work together to determine the buyers perfect location, floor plan, and timeline. After this is determined the agent and Empire Homes will work together to create a mutual purchase agreement. After the accepted agreement the Empire Sales team will take the lead from here and schedule the Homeowner Meeting.
  2. Select Finishes: Now for the fun stuff, depending on the stage of construction homeowners get to select any remaining finishes in their home to add their own personal touches.
  3. Regular Checkpoints: Empire will remain in contact with the buyers and the agent if any additional meetings need to be scheduled or if there are any questions about the home.
  4. Waiting for Closing Day: Now the hard part, waiting until closing day! The title company will schedule a closing day and time. The Empire team will schedule a final walk through 2-3 days prior to closing. Time to close and move in

New vs. Renovating

With a new construction home, you’ll have more control over the outcome of your new home. You can provide input on the finishes and can customize it to your unique personal preferences. Renovating an older home requires working with a contractor or doing improvements yourself. That can take more time, stress, and money with unexpected costs. Ultimately, renovating an older home can uncover many unexpected issues you were not anticipating which in turn can cost more than if you would have bought new.
